For a threedimensional diatomic icosahedral quasicrystal of the Mg(AlZn) type we have investigated the behaviour under a load of Frenkel defects for a wide range of defect concentration. We have applied relaxation methods, which give us the behaviour for zero temperature. To study the influence of a finite temperature we have randomly displace the atoms. We find a continuous transition to the amorphous phase, intensified at higher temperatures. The results are discussed with respect to experimental results.
